My first evening on Weight Watchers.

At some point while I was shoveling food down my trough, I thought, I should take a picture of this. But the camera was too far away- in the next room and in my purse. By the time I could muster up the will to take a photo, the food was all gone. So, I thought- well at least you could enjoy the site of an empty bowl. You would have known what you could have had...
It was quite healthy actually. My first real day on Weight Watchers went well- until the scary, frought with conflict... Nighttime. I made the mistake of eating a light lunch at around 2:30PM. By the time it was 6 I was starving. I didn't get home until 7:45- by then I was ready to kill someone. And I had to meditate. I invited a friend over, and we meditated together, then I cooked for her.
WHAT I MADE was surprisingly fresh and healthy:
WHAT I MADE was surprisingly fresh and healthy:
Shitake mushrooms, dandelion greens, bok choy, and zucchini tossed with flat rice noodles.
Ingredients: Shitake Mushrooms, Dandelion Greens, Bok Choy, Zucchini, Trader Joe's Flat Rice Noodles, A bit of chopped ginger, Condensed Vegetable Broth, Sea Salt
Instructions: Boil the noodles. Meanwhile saute the vegetables. Combine when done and season with a teaspoon of condensed vegetable broth and sea salt! This vegetable broth is amazing!

It turned out heavenly. Only problem was- I made more than enough for 2, and my friend ate 1/2 her portion and I ate more than mine, plus the rest!
Then a venture out to buy some bread for tomorrow's breakfast and post some flyers for an upcoming concert I'm promoting. We stopped at Casbah, and that was a BIG mistake. Or was it? [I still have some points left to blow on WW, so there. Take that points system]
Anyway, I couldn't stop admiring the Pot de creme, and the demure goblets of chocolate mousse. I said to her, Come on. let's get some dessert. She countered, Aren't you on a diet? But my diet says I don't have to deprive myself. I have points! Plus, this is my last opportunity.
A mouthful of chocolate mousse and raspberry tart later, I pushed away my half full goblet, and said, I'm satisfied. I don't want anymore. And I really was.
I've enclosed the evidence and a picture of my "new old friends" - foods I've always loved, and now plan to win this battle with: Coconut water, Lydia's Herbs de Provence Kale Chips, and their arch enemy (but I'm healthy I tell you), dark chocolate covered blueberries, with some chocolate peanut butter covered malt balls thrown in for good humor.
Look forward to more recipes, hijinx, and general disarray on this whacky, quaky ride. I am really wondering if this is going to work. In fact, I'm explicitly doubting it. How am I going to lose weight eating 31 points a day plus 49 for the week? Let's see. We'll see. I have to keep reminding myself to stay positive, that only time will tell, and this is a hell of a lot more fun than doing it by myself. Fat mama's you're my heros. I remember you for inspiration!
